The House That Love Built

When families have traveled many miles to receive specialized medical care, looking for temporary accommodations in an unfamiliar place only adds to their stress and anxiety. The Ronald McDonald House not only offers them a place to stay, but a built-in support system where families help each other. Together, they face and overcome some of the most trying times in their lives.

Our children and their families have come from 63 out of 64 parishes in Louisiana, many states across the country and all over the world. We had been running at or beyond capacity from 2001 until our temporary closure due to Hurricane Katrina. Since we've reopened, our numbers are back up and we are as busy as ever!

Super Service Challenge from the Drew Brees Foundation and Companies With A Mission

Cintas Team                  Drew Brees Check Presentation

On January 30, 2013, Ronald McDonald House was chosen as a recipient of a total of $27,000 in the Super Service Challenge from the Brees Dream Foundation and Companies With A Mission through two teams working on our behalf.  A team from Cintas (pictured left) spent the afternoon at the House painting. Their project was voted in the Top 5 finalists and awarded us $25,000. The Young Professionals for Healthy Kids team reworked and organized our pantry which awarded us $2,000.  We truly appreciate the hard work of both teams.

From organizing small fund raisers, attending social meet-ups, and cooking dinners at the House for the families, this new group is getting involved and helping RMH.
